ACT science-theatre collective Bohemian Productions will present the first Canberra season of its interactive performance A Prisoner’s Dilemma at the Street Theatre from Tuesday 17 – Saturday 21 June.
Bohemian Productions

A Prisoner’s Dilemma brings together interactive theatre, lo-fi electronics and live trombone / electronica in a performance based on the science of Game Theory and the Prisoner’s Dilemma thought experiment. The narrative follows two scientists taken prisoner, offered rewards and punishments to inform on each other. Woven in and out of this story are a number of interactive game-modules, in which the audience direct the performers using a variety of control devices including modified remote controls and torchbeam cursors.

After successful seasons at the 2007 Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Asia-Pacific Complex Systems Conference in Queensland, the Street Theatre and Bohemian Productions are proud to present A Prisoner’s Dilemma’s first public ACT season.

‘A lively and original piece of interactive theatre… The two primary performers are both able and engaging, the interactivity does not drag hapless audience members on stage and the production’s content is both intelligent and diverting. 4 stars.’
Samela Harris, The Adelaide Advertiser, Mar 2007

A Prisoner’s Dilemma runs for five nights: 8pm Tues 17 – Satu 21 June in Street 2, The Street Theatre, cnr Childers street and University avenue. Tickets: $20 adult / $15 conc. There should be more trombone-based theatre in Canberra.

Sounds awesome – I’m there – but only for the trombone.
