ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a road rage incident that occurred in Bonython yesterday afternoon (Friday, February 10).

Between 2.45pm and 3pm the victim, in a grey Toyota sedan, was driving west along Isabella Drive just before Drakeford Drive roundabout, where he observed two vehicles turn from a side street and continue travelling in unison on the same road as him.

After changing lanes the victim’s vehicle was in between the two cars when the driver of the front vehicle stopped suddenly requiring the victim to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

The driver of the front vehicle got out of his white Econovan with a baseball bat and approached the victim’s car, smashing the front windscreen with one stroke and then leaving.

The second vehicle travelling behind the victim’s car is described as a white sedan.

The offender is described as 5’11, with an olive complexion, about 25 to 28 years of age with a shaved head. He was wearing a singlet and board shorts with no shoes. There was also a passenger in the offender’s car.

Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Good ol’ Tonks, still making promises she can’t keep I see.

It took you four days to come up with that? Back to the drawing board old chum. Either that or quit while you’re behind.

If Dad’s Army had a presence on the road instead of ‘fighting crime’ by shadow boxing at a desk with a cup of coffee and biscuit then drivers might be a bit better behaved. But don’t hold your breath, they can’t even direct the traffic at a prang. Must have something to do with being out in the weather. I know, they can’t be everywhere, especially when they are nowhere.

Are you always this retarded?

ad hom = Arthur wins by default.
ad hom = “I can’t think of a valid point to make about your post, so I’ll just insult you”.

Whilst it’s very chivalrous (and even a little sweet) of you to defend Arthur, he needs to understand that if he wants to write deliberately stupid comments to get a reaction, then the reaction he gets is likely to be overwhelmingly negative.

If he (or you) writes something remotely sensible, then I’ll write a sensible reply.

I had a bloke flash his lights at me, speed past me and slam the brakes on in front of me once. I changed lanes and drove up beside him and glared at him and he waved, apologised, and mouthed that he thought I was someone else.

I didn’t get his rego number even though I almost hit his plate.

When something like this happens the last thing you think of is writing down the plate, even though this could have been a really bad situation.

I am amazed as to how we hear stories like this, and yet no-one seems to look at the rego number (which is in big clear characters at both ends of the vehicle).

Road rage is completely inexcusable, but I’m starting to wonder whether the people involved get caught up because they have no idea as to their surroundings or what they’re doing.

This incident seems to have traces of premeditation and preparedness, so the term “rage” does not really apply.

There’s something odd about this – it doesn’t really make sense… and it’s another one of these road rage stories with a seeming failure to obtain a rego number. Despite the source, I’m calling troll on this one.

So he smashed up his own car? Seems strange.

I agree it is described very strangely – the road they all were travelling on is one lane until just before the round about and unless they were both going into the right lane to get onto drakeford there was no reason to change lanes – and you wouldn’t be travelling for very long between the two cars.

what I don’t get about this and a few others before is why would you sit there while someone comes at your car with a baseball bat – oh yeah, I will just wait to see what they do! no way, I would be doing my best to get out of there.

What a charmer.

Glad I don’t drive too much.

The offender must have the white Commodore off the road.
