If you are a secondhand book lover, you might have heard of the the Bookery Books at the Fyshwick Plaza.

Last Saturday, I popped by to buy some books and was told that the shop is having a end of lease 50% sale. Curious, I asked where she’s moving to and was told that she’s actually retiring when the lease ends.

What a shame. I started going to this bookstore since when I first arrived in Canberra 6 years ago and it has a good collection of books. It was much needed resource when I was a poor student. Not that I’m any richer these days.

So, this is your last chance to get some second hand books at a dirt cheap price. I was told that the sale will end by Easter.

Old books, old post. I prefer my second hand bookshops to have more fiction

… staff are always friendly, helpful and exceptionally good looking, is waht I was going to say. 🙂

Okay, now I’m confused. I’m a long-time fan of Canty’s Bookshop, and have always found their prices very very good. The staff are al

Now at one point, Canty’s did have a second store just a few doors down from the original one, however I’m pretty sure that store isn’t Canty’s anymore.

Which store were you referring to, ant?

“I’m pretty sure it was teh old Canty books”
At those prices I can assure you that it wasn’t Canty’s Bookshop.
I suspect you were actually in the Bookery.

The Bookery has had the sale for over half a year, I’m surprised the shop’s still open. I hope the new owner is also a second hand book seller.

I was poking around a bookshop there a week or so back, but I’m pretty sure it was teh old Canty books. Huge lot of books they had, including quite a few Billabong books. Sadly they were all hardback, and after opening three to see a price of $58 written in, I got the horrors! I never did get to read all of them, and at that price, never will.

I’ll check back there again, and make sure I find bookery Books. I’m pretty sure I saw a sign for it.

I’m quite sure I’ve seen some children books. Also saw a lot of fiction novels, arts & crafts, biographies, cookery, health, politics etc.

Sounds good – what kind of books does she have – any kiddie books?
