Botanic Gardens Burn

By johnboy - 7 August 2013 0

The Australian National Botanic Gardens on Clunies Ross Street, Acton, will conduct a hazard reduction burn tomorrow, Thursday 8 August, 2013, weather permitting from 7.30am.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is K11.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
