Bourke jumps back into public school funding

“Continual audit” is one thing; action is another. I’d love to see an independent audit undertaken of the physical state of every public school. It is probably time for the ACT Government to return school building maintenance back to a centralised office rather than insist it is the business of individual schools to maintain their own buildings.

Perhaps the magnificent heated swimming pool at Malkara was only built to show off the model boats and submarines on one weekend a year?

I’m sure it is well used year round, but I’d love a bit more info on why a second one is required. Asking in the nicest possible way, as these kids deserve every bit of help they can get.

And… seriously? Is he saying Taylor Primary wasn’t a priority until it was forced to close? Or was their auditing incorrect? Maybe the culture of faking data crept from the hopsitals into the school audit reports…!

Well, even if he does cling onto his seat, I guess he’s trying to cling on to a ministry.
