ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a robbery in Braddon yesterday afternoon (Sunday, 26 June).

Around 5.40pm a man was standing at the rear of his car on Currong Street when an unknown person grabbed him from behind. The man pulled the bag from his shoulder which fell to the ground. The offender ran towards Braddon and was pursued by the victim, leaving the bag on the ground.

After giving up his pursuit the victim turned back to his car and saw a second man pick the bag up and run through Jerrilderie Court.

One of the offenders is described as tall and thin, wearing a grey coloured beanie

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the robbery yesterday to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Sophisticated mugging in Canberra?
*shakes head*

What happened to the good ol’ threat of violence and actually carrying it out regardless of whether the victim complies.

and just think, if this poor victim had had say, a Colt .45, he’d still have his precious man-bag and we’d be down two thieving druggo’s!

Obligatory Dick-head comment noted. The victim’s gun would most likely be in the bag that was snatched.

Most gunshot wounds are self inflicted. Go ahead save us the troublre

Captmarinesniper points out exactly why having guns in the community is a bad idea. They fall into the hands of criminals. Why bag snatch when you have easy access to guns.

The .45 was in the bag.
