Braddon iPad thief brought to justice

ACT Policing has arrested a 33-year-old man, of no fixed abode, after an aggravated burglary in Braddon yesterday (Tuesday, September 18).

About 10.55am police were called to a house in Girrawheen Street, Braddon after receiving reports from two members of the public of a broken window and an intruder inside the premises.

The two members of the public have alerted police who attended immediately and a short time later police apprehended the man as he left the scene on a bicycle along Elouera Street, Braddon.

During the burglary a number of items were stolen from the residence including a computer tablet and digital camera.

ACT Policing has commended the awareness and diligence of the two members of the public who contacted them to report the suspicious activity, ultimately leading to the arrest.

The man is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, September 19) on charges relating to aggravated burglary, theft and stating a false name.
