Brave Leader Acquires A Taste For Travel

ABC Online have the interesting news on Mr. Stanhope’s attitude adjustment following his overseas tour.

Mr Stanhope says the trip opened his eyes to the scale of international markets and the need for the ACT to be proactive in opening up trade opportunities.

He says Canberra has some natural advantages in areas such as defence technology.

A bit of First Class champers and the arch-pacifist wants to be a merchant of death to the USA?

Where do I sign up to be an MLA or an MP? Do I have to undertake a concience bypass to get the job?

Ex-Trade Shadow Crean – and the missus- flew out on a four week tax-payer funded European tour – mission – to talk to EU trade officials and the WTO – but they’ve probably realised by now that not only is Simon the Shadow, he’s not even the Trade Shadow. Who approved the truip and how did it cost us simpletons ?

Sounds as if he’s just buttering us up for more overseas fact finding jollies, I mean missions….

I’d say it’s a load of shit to cover the fact he’ll be taking more taxpayer funded holidays.

At least now there is a pretense (albeit very weak) that he will be endeavouring to better the ACT economy whilst working on his tan.
