Anybody else see the brawl at Belconnen mall yesterday?

Was walking past the food court when a fight broke out between 5-10 people started fighting saw one guy get smashed with a food court chair must of been painful.

Then they moved up towards sushi sushi by that time a large crowd had gathered around couldn’t see much more then.

Beware of the North(Dark) Side

I remember the fights in my high school, in the 80’s, weren’t exactly clean. They usually had the 1 on 1 aspect, but there was plenty of kicking a guy (or girl) when he (or she) was down. The pack of kids surrounding the fight yelling ‘blood! blood! blood!’ probably spurred things on.

The people fighting where probably visiting from Tuggeranong 🙂

That’s ludicrous, Tuggeranong people wouldn’t sink to the level of their Belco counterparts by travelling into the darkness to have a scrag fight in Belconnen Mall.

Harryhaller – I had the weirdest Christmas last year and felt the same thing. I was at the zoo in Melbourne and the zoo keepers were feeding the African Hunting dogs the severed heads of goats for the entertainment of the masses. The crowd watching was enourmous. Kids, babes in arms, grannies, parents, aunties and uncles all straining to see the dogs tear the heads to pieces. They roared with excitement each time some damage was done. Very Colosseum. I wrote it up on Riotact if you wanted to have a read. I personally don’t believe we have evolved culturally as a species at all. We are naughty hairless monkeys who happen to have consciousness. Unlike the robots on BSG, there is no plan.

On a similar theme, I’ve long been of the opinion that public executions would be an absolute sellout at the MCG or any similar large stadium.

As a 39 year old, back in my day, a fight was a one on one affair. I was speaking to a 20 year old a few weeks a go and he was explaining how things worked these days. If you felt slighted by someone you didn’t challenge them to a fight. You waited until you had 4 or 5 mates ready to go and bashed them as soon as they were cut off from their pack. In retaliation, the other one would gather his mates and bash you when you were alone. He said it had been this way for as long as he could remember. He felt he had been lucky because the scrapes he had been in didn’t end up with someone being stabbed!
Queensberry who?

Gutless tossers. One on one, with the winner declared upon the loser falling down or giving in is the only way it should be done. Allows those involved to stop it whenever they want, and it doesn’t spread to other people.

I heard the fight was over whether Belco had a better Donut King than the Hyperdome

Great we had the ‘2902’ boyz Vs the ‘2615’ massif. After attrition Tuggers wins by 187.

Oops!! There’s that ping of Intelligence again….Admit it, you were involved weren’t you.

It’s true; I was minding my own business busting out a move on the dance machine at Intencity when some one challenged me to a dance off. So we started break-dance fighting.

Idiots. The way people fight these days is down right scary if you ask me, rarely people seem to comprehend the end result of bashing someone and the long term dmage it can do either psychologically or physically. There is no honour or dignity in this kind of behaviour.

It used to be when someone was lying on the ground, then he or she was left alone. Nowadays, when someone is on the ground the fight only just starts, and you see the friends of the offender filming it all on their mobile cams. To me this is equally sick and disgusting as in ancient Rome when the spectators watched slaves being fed to lions, etc. And yes, we thought we were over that sort of thing, but apparently it has a come back these days.

All of that so called evolution and it would appear that, as a species, we haven’t learned a damn thing!

Yep, the usual kids fighting after school. Nothing new.
