I thought that the readers of RiotACT might like to know about a break in at the Australian Mathematics Trust in Bruce on the weekend.

Thieves broke into the Headquarters of the Australian Mathematics Trust at about 4pm on Sunday Afternoon.
It appears that they have taken the IT Managers PC, Two TFT Monitors and a Laptop.
If any of your readers is approached by anyone wanting to sell them one of these items, can they please contact the police ASAP?
The details of the missing items are;

One HP DX2000 MT Workstation
Two HP 1702 17” TFT Monitors
One Compaq Evo N800V Laptop.

Wow there are some keen nerds in this town! 🙂

“If any of your readers is approached by anyone wanting to sell them one of these items, can they please contact the police ASAP?”

…because the police are having their own auction and their phones are running hot with requests for PCs and laptops! HAHA!

What’s the point of breaking into a mathematics trust if you don’t steal an abacus?

that was only a fraction of what they could have taken.

i heard they tried to take a polynomial, but it wouldnt fit through the door.

Pardon the pun, but pass on to them this is what happens when your calculator/computer breaks during a test, so they’ll have to do their sums manually…
