Our Brave Leader must be a bit rattled.

He’s announced that for Senior’s Week (this coming week) holders of a senior’s card can sample the pleasures of off-peak ACTION bus services absolutely free. (such off-peak services as there are)

He’s even done some research into how the little people get about, offering this advice:

Bus stops are located along many suburban streets. The stops are easy to find – just look for a pole with a yellow bus stop sign or a yellow wooden peg with the words ‘Signal Bus’.

There are plenty of 80 year olds around.
They are the ones on the bus – 70 year olds are still driving.

hardly any of the current crop of oldies fought in anything more than the queue for the Sunday roast at the local club: they are simply not old enough. A 65 year old was born in 1942. Someone who was 18 in 1945 is now 80.

i always liked the bus stop scene in harvy crumpet

Good on ’em – now they can catch both off peak buses for free!

Yes bigred and they fought in various wars to give you the right to free speech.

they get free driving licences and cut rate rego so they don’t need to catch a bus. Instead they clutter up our strrets in their slow moving convoys of white corollas or similar.

If only he provided regular, reliable bus services so these people can get around!
