Ted Quinlan is not happy enough having Canberra host the Southern hemisphere’s largest mountain bike race, the Mont 24 Hour So he is looking to put a finger in every cycling pie with the creation of the Brindabella Mountains Challenge

After the whole dragway debarcle these guys had lost my vote, but it appears that they have bought me back with this…that is if it ever gets off the ground.

We have a festival of cycling already (albeit not a really good one). I am all for this event but why not tie it all in together – start with the Mont and finish with this one. In 99 the Mont ran over the weekend of 31 October so this could (in theory) all fit together – run the festival over 6 weeks through november and december.

Who knows with this commitment we may even see some govt $ flow to the off road cycling community!

Just a rip off of the Audax event in Bright in Victoria every year.

I am very curious as to the motives of this government’s sudden love for sport. At least they’ve gotten someone with an in depth knowledge of the sport to run it. Steve Hodge is a champ.
