The Raiders inform usthat their boom second row Bronson Harrison has decided to stick with the Green Machine until the end of 2014.

His re-signing continues the Raiders strong retention and recruitment program and Harrison said he’s more than happy to remain in green for another three years.

“It’s been a great move for me coming to Canberra and its helped me become a better player by being here,” Harrison said. “It’s a club that’s going places for sure and I’m really looking forward to continuing to get better both personally and as a team in the years ahead.”

Raiders CEO Don Furner said Harrison’s re-signing was a huge boost for the club on the eve of the season and said the club was doing its best to try and keep the core of the team together for the future.

Bronson Harrison? Really? Surely that’s a stage name, invented by a PR firm.

The bloke is a machine, glad to see him sticking around for a while yet.

Great stuff.

El Pres has it right – Bronson is real leadership material, a nice fella who also gives it 100% on the field.

Fantastic news. The Furner boys have really turned this club around. Done good fellas, done good.

This is great news for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s obviously fantastic that we’ve managed to secure one of the game’s best second-rowers at the height of his career. Anyone who remembers his game against the Tigers in the finals last year will know what this guy is capable of.

Furthermore, it reveals that the Raiders are a happy, well managed and well coached side. Congrats to the Furners! (If you’d asked me at the middle of last season I probably would have called for both of their heads – sorry guys).

As an aside, I also think Bronson could really be considered captain material at some point in the future if ever required (I know we have Campo on a million-year contract and Tounge is still around for the foreseeable, but as a back up possibly).

Things are looking good!

That’s nice. Perhaps someone can explain what a “boom” second row or recruit etc is? It is a peculiar form of sports cliche that I can’t find in any online dictionary.
