The Brumbies have spoiled Jake White’s return to Canberra with a hard fought 16-9 win over the Sharks in Canberra last night.

In a match dominated by the forwards, the return of Fotu Auelua bought some much needed aggression to the Brumbies back row.

Both sides traded a penalty goal apiece after the break, before Sam Carter, in a man of the match performance, crossed in the 65th minute for the only try of the match.

The Brumbies head to South Africa today where they will face the Cheetahs and the Bulls.

I agree – I enjoyed the win…but the conditions just weren’t there for amazing running rugby. It was all about playing the game min the opposition territory and working hard. Great win.

There are articles about how boring the game was, but I tell you want. I’d rather having the Brumbies win ugly than play like the Raiders have been….
Plus most Sydney media do whatever it takes to make the Waratahs look like the best team in Australia, when in reality they haven’t been that great even since the Kookaburras beat them and the Brumbies got admitted to Super Rugby.
