It wasn’t pretty, and it wasn’t great (Foxsports tells the tale).

But it was a pretty comprehensive thrashing of those bastards from Sydney with nine turncoats turning out in nursery blue.

A special “get cancer and die” to the NSW parents who let their kids stand in the front row and not sit their tubby arses down even when asked to in a very polite way.

UPDATE 05/05/12 23:09: The Brumbies have tweeted the devastating news that star pivot Christian Lealiifano is out for the season.

UPDATE 06/05/12 18:25: And now this:

So on to replacement fly halves. I’d love this outstanding start for the team not to fall to pieces after the injuries to our two number 10s.

Does anyone know much about Zach Holmes? I’ve read plenty of ‘promising rookie’ type things, but the team wouldn’t have selected him if he wasn’t promising.

Robbie Coleman is the other option I’ve heard. I just don’t feel like he’s big enough! Though, I guess everyone always held their breath every time Sir Steven Larkham was tackled…

It’s a bittersweet symphony this life.

totally devastated about Lealiifano’s injury, but aside from that it was a fun night… despite somehow being surrounded by Tahs supporters! Some of which left in a huff just after the post-half time try.

Also had a good laugh at Rocky’s expense, and this zinger from the Brumbies media team… https://twitter.com/#!/BrumbiesRugby/status/198728523005956098

Christian out for 6 months. So very sad.

I was constantly entertained by the blokes near me who were making their feelings about certain Tah players well known. hearing someone yell “Tom Carter. You’re a dickhead” truly never gets old.

Best comment of the night was just after Ashley-Cooper had dropped the ball – “At least your girlfriend is enjoying Sydney!”.

Hey that might have been me.

Oh no wait, everyone thinks Tom Carter is a dickhead, carry on.

The mouldy mandarin in the middle put on such a poor performance, I thought Mr Jonker was back on the field.

It was glorious to watch the Waratards remain tryless for the game, and scoreless in the second half. While they still have a chance of scrapping into the finals, with the games they have coming up, it’s going to be somewhat difficult for them.

One of the highlights of the evening for me was getting under the skin of a Waratards currently-non-player so much, that he felt the need to approach me at half time and call me a dickhead. Unfortunately, he did say this in front of my daughter and security. Guess who spent the second half in the sheds, and will be reported to the ARU?

Apparently she’s left him

But if Christian has broken his ankle the price might have been too high =(

Indeed. Seems that both Matt and Christian are picking up Stephen’s silky skills, and the unfortunate ability to pick up bad injuries at inconvenient times in the season.

Christian’s injury looked bad. Never can be good when he player is heaving in the green stick.

It’s a pity for him. He looked like he might have cracked a Wallaby jersey this year.

I’d hate to read what you’d have written if you’d lost!

I can already hear the EDD twitter feed firing up with advice on being nice with post-match analysis!

I’d hate to read what you’d have written if you’d lost!

Lealiifano with a broken ankle though I hear. A big loss…
