Yipeee!

Stuff reports on the Brumbies’ comprehensive bonus point smashing of the Otago Highlanders last night at the Stadium in Bruce.

And the backs finally scoring tries! We thought we’d never see the day!

Well done Matt Toomua, a thoroughly well deserved man of the match.

Oh I see, cheers. I’m sure they mentioned it on 666’s coverage but the crowd was a bit rowdy so I couldn’t hear anything.

Anyone know why a try wasn’t awarded when Steven Moore planted the ball? I was down the other end of the stadium and couldn’t work out what happened.

obstruction by one of the other brumbies players. it was a pretty harsh call given that there was another defender moore brushed off to break the line

Dont worry, just watched the video

What happened? That is the “fifth try” I was referring to in my first post.

Alexanders try was ruled the dreaded double movement 😉

Actually it was termed playing the ball on the ground, and he did wait a verrrrry long time before he reached out to put it over the line. I guess the temptation was too much!

Beating the crusaders in christchurch with a bonus point will be excellent practice for tackling the bulls at loftus!

If we have to play the Bulls in South Africa, it won’t be at Loftus. FIFA need it for the World Cup from May 21 so the Bulle are going to be playing at Orlando in Soweto.

That will prove interesting for the Brumbies in a new stadium. However, that’s 2 weeks away yet…

It was four converted tries plus a penalty goal (4×7+3=31).

Do you think we’ll make the finals? Seriously?

I’m still trying to work out how five tries and a perfect kicking game from Giteau netted the Brumbies only 31 points, but whatever.

Huia Edmonds throwing the ball forward for a quick lineout towards the end of the match was a bit o_O.
