Brumbies bomb out of finals

The ABC has the sad news that the Brumbies won’t be contesting the finals of the Super 14 after they ran out of puff against the Crusaders last night, and then the Sharks walloped the Force, as I predicted they would.

Trust me the joy of seeing my prophect fulfilled doesn’t stack up to the hollow empty feeling I’m left with. Over on keo the South Africans are quite happy though.

As long as the pansies don’t win..then I’m happy. Two years of not making the finals after sacking the coach that took them to a title the year before? Hmmmmmm.

My pick is a Hurricanes vs Crusaders Final, with the Crusaders winning by at least 20 points!

we all said at the time that the lost bonus point against the cats was going to come back and bite us in arse and it did, bugger

like the sharks or now bulls are going to have any more luck?

The bulls shunted us another rung down the ladder and a whole 8 points on for and against seperate 4th, 5th and 6th.

I would not be surprised if the crusaders don’t turn on another 2002 performance vs the ‘tahs in the final (I’m backinghte tah’s to beat the ‘canes next week)

I don’t think they were going anywhere in the finals. Whats the use of limping into the finals? They would have been walloped by the Crusaders next week as well had they made it.

and good luck with the new site JB

In reality their next game would simply have been another shellacking at the hands of the Crusaders in a 1 v 4 sudden death loss, so it only really happened a week early.

I think Gregan’s spear tackle last week if a more obvious candidate.

But I take your point, there have been too many missed opportunities this season.

I can track their overall loss to the first match they played against the Cats here in Canberra. They were 25-0 at half time and squandered the bonus points they would have been awarded by letting the Cats score in the second half to finish 28-7. Those bonus point would have tipped them in to the final 4…
