Brumbies downed by Tahs in Trial Game

Last night the Waratahs beat the Brumbies 12-0 in their trial match in Wollongong. The score didn’t do justice to many of the young Brumbies who put in a good effort as Brumbies coach Gandalf Fisher set out to blood a few of the boys before the real games get started.

The game had plenty of injuries – the knees of the Tahs big boys Lard Dunning, Chubby Kanaar and Porky Dennis all crumbling under the weight of too many offseason meat pies. The Brumbies didn’t escape injury either, Puncher Palavi was stretchered off the field with a nasty neck injury following a collapsed scrum. Although his season may be over, the injury should see Palavi gain some sympathy when he returns to court next week.

A much better match report can be seen here.

Perhaps….but wait for the official start of the S14. I found last year they had the best written (and detailed) reports of all games for all the teams.

The match report on RugbyRugby was a bit too Tah Tah for my liking. I’m pretty certain it came from a NS Welsh correspondant, although almost every report did except for the Brumbies site, and of course RiotACT 🙂

Can I suggest the best rugby site of all: http://www.rugbyrugby.com.
They also carried a report on this S14 trial game (and the others).
