Brumbies figure out scoring 4 tries. Now just need to figure out winning

Foxsports has news of the Brumbies narrow 31-25 loss to the Queensland Reds at home.

Scoring four tries to one and losing by less than seven is actually a bit hopeful for the rest of the season.

And between the narrow loss and the four tries we do get the same two points we’d have earned from a dour draw (but Queensland getting four in the tight conference system is undoubtedly a blow).

What did the faithful at the ground think?

brumbies v reds

I’m intrigued as to how so many of the penalties for them came from scrums where we had it all over them. Any time we got a call from a scrum it was bent arm and theirs were all full arm. It was the same against the Chiefs.

Pat McCabe had another great game as did Stephen Moore, Ma’afi always seems to get in the way and Gits had an ok game except for his kicking which was terrible.

Too much indiscipline and who is supposed to instill that? Oh that’s right… the coach.

+1
I took a Rugby “virgin” to the game but struggled to explain the game as I had NO IDEA what half the penalties were for! Penalised for a 1 handed scrum feed….FFS!

Sure we could have played better, but we vastly outplayed the Reds.

Sack the coach!

Definately couldn’t have been the players fault, they are professionals and paid megabucks to drop the ball, give away penalties, throw dud passes and fall away from tackles then blame it all on the coach.

Ewan McKenzie is a blight on RU, he’s taken a pretty exciting and talented team and turned them into drab grinders that will win a few games but go nowhere in the business end of the season and drive fans away in their droves.

At least the Brumbies were trying to play rugby, they just need a dose of mongrel

Was there last night, it was excrutiating in the way that watching a really bad school production is painful, but you feel you have to watch because you have to.
Thought it was summed up by a text part way through to radio saying (not verbatim) “No coach, ref seems against us, even the horse has gone down”.
So does anyone know if Brumby Jack is gonna turn up in pies for the next game? Will he make a miraculous recovery and lead the team to victory next time? Or was he simply trying to find a way to get out of trying to gee the crowd up when everything was pointing to the bleeding obvious?
too many questions, I know.
I blame it all on moonageddon.

GO REDS! YOU BEAUTY!

Just another example of Rugby Union’s flawed scoring system. No way Reds were the better team last night.

The faithful at the ground around me were blaming the referee. This faithful has a sore neck from all the head shaking left to right after pretty much every Brumbies play. It’s madness for a professional rugby player: to drop the ball cold; pass to no one; give away completely stupid penalties in your own half; go into the tackle chest up high; crab along sideways; hospital pass the ball into a team mate’s head and generally act like you’d rather be in the change rooms having a fap fap than out there being paid to play a game you supposedly love. “We are the Brumbies, wild and free, tough and exciting is what we used to be…”

Four tries to one and they lose. No wonder I will never understand this game properly, haha. Something needs to be done to stop Union from being a penalty goal snore fest. Or the Brumbies could be more disciplined in defence.

We can’t blame the coach anymore.

Hardly a faithful, however as I was there with some out of town faithful, I have to say that the Brumbies keep demonstrating a lack of discipline in giving away far too many penalties, and the backs and forwards need to play for the same team. Lots of standing flat and no moving up by the backs leaving the forwards nowhere to go but into the Reds defenders

Also Gits is past it and needs to go gracefully now before he becomes a huge joke, he can’t even manage a decent kick these days.

Another loss! Time for the players to blame the coach (again) and look elsewhere (again).
