Brumbies not good enough in Brisbane, going down 20-13

Foxsports brings word of a pretty awful game of rugby played in Brisbane where the result didn’t go our way either.

There were some good things in the game. But two questions raise themselves:

1) Was Peter Kimlin picked to drop the ball?

2) Who was our outside centre and what purpose did he serve?

Saw it on Fox and, yes, the Brumbies’ execution of the simple stuff was woeful – and Peter Kimlin was a repeat offender in his time on field. Sometimes it’s better to play ball in hand rather than try to kick the leather off the thing. And running the ball is pretty much the only way to score tries that don’t rely on the opposition erring.
The good stuff – Christian Lealiifano, Jesse Mogg, Michael Hooper when he came on, Stephen Moore, Ben Mowen most of the time. The truly horrible moment was the TMO – unsurprisingly, George Ayoub – green lighting a try to a Reds player whose arm was on or over the touchline. That was the difference between the loss the Brumbies had and the draw they did not deserve.
