Brumbies off to a solid start in the APC

Why not play ‘Grease’ at the Park as a curtain-raiser before the game? The crowd would really appreciate that. You’d probably get more patrons, too.

It totally screwed parking in Erindale before and during the game. We had to hold the performance of ‘Grease’ at Erindale Theatre for 15 minutes to let the audience park.

As usual, they built the sporting facility with totally inadequate parking.

That seems to be a feature of modern ACT planning…

A good solid performance from the Brumbies.
Julian Huxley continued with his one man style of rugby that got him a contract at the Reds, only to have to return to Canberra a year later. Let’s hope we don’t see much more of his Lathamesque play.

For mine were the omnipresent Stephen Hoiles – a strong debut in the white guernsey. We will forgive his one pass to the ‘tahs – I guess old habits die hard.

The second highlight was the strong performance of Marty Wilson – a new recruit to the Brumbies, he trained under Laurie Fisher in the U21’s.
I think he will be a good utility back and sometime lineout jumper.

Also – his father invented the rainbow paddlepop.

the Force beats the Reds over the weekend, this Friday should be a cracker.

Yes I think we got a bit lucky, but the crowd got right behind the chants for Pie Boy Dunning

and not nearly enough publicity as 4 out of 5 people I spoke to about the game beforehand didn’t even know it was on (and these are rugby watching people)
