The Greens have committee report looking into the needed zoning changes to turn the Brumbies HQ into apartment blocks.

The committee report recommends that residential development only proceed with strict conditions.

“I am pleased that this decision, if accepted by the planning minister, will create new areas of public realm on the Brumbies site”, Greens Planning Spokesperson, Caroline Le Couteur MLA, said today.

The planning committee recommends that a precinct code be developed to ensure that:
— All development is at least 35 metres from the creek – and the existing path is improved and remains publicly accessible;
— The track from Austin Street through the site is improved;
— All the trees on the perimeter of the site which are shown in the concept plan are retained, including their root systems; and
— Basement parking is restricted to one level only.
