You think? IF they win all three remaining games (Two in Sth Africa & the Force in Perth) then they’re a chance. No easy task to win all of those games.

I think they’ve had a reasonable year, considering the number of experienced players they’ve been without due to retirement & injury. I didn’t think they’d go as well as they have…..& it’s the Super 14, there’s no such thing as “weak opposition”. Any one of the teams could beat any other on their day. As for comparisons with The Raiders….as someone had already mentioned, you can’t compare the two at all…different sports, etc.

I think it’s been an amazing year for the brumbies.

After the players we’ve lost this season, and the last few seasons, through retirement and injury, I’m just happy enough to be still in contention for the finals at this stage of the season.

With players in key positions that don’t have much ‘super’ experience I think we’ve performed way above expectations. Not bad for a rebuilding year anyway…

Go the Brumbies!! (and the Raiders!!)

Saw it,again on someone else’s unused ticket. A win is a win is a win. But they should have run this mob of tanks around for a while and then put fifty on them.

There’s no doubt that the Lions played, especially in defence, better than expected. The draw they looked like getting would hve been deserved. They had some chances and took them. As to the Brumbies, flat line attacks don’t work, especially against defences that creep up to offside. Defences, by contrast, don’t work if they’re clustered and uneven in depth. The lineout was tripe most of the time, both with Ulugia and Faingaa throwing – it doesn’t have to be a hooker, does it? Surely someone can master it – though it’s a tough role. The kicking game was a bit better than dreadful, but still below par.

The good bits. Stirling Mortlock lasted a whole game and spoke in whole, grammatical sentences with some polysyllabic words. Ben Alexander looks like a talent. George Smith, as always, showed a great work ethic and should have been inspirational. Julian Salvi is following a similar pattern.

yes the brumbies played like crap. Mark Gerrard even said words to that affect in the post game interview (I think he may even hace said those exact words: “we played like crap”) and i think even the most one eyed brumbies supporter (and there really isn’t any other kind) would have a hard time arguing that they will make the finals.

As for raiders v brumbies discussion – who gives a toss. Different codes, different game, different opposition, compertition, etc, etc. IMO it’s as valid as comparing the aust cricket team and the socceroos. You can like both, neither, whatever.

As it happens I like rugby and support the brumbies (even when they play boring crap, mumble, mumble).
