Brumbies suck slightly more than Steven Walsh

We used to be a clever, well drilled side that made the most of what it had.

Now we’re not.

Pat Macabe deserved to be outside a better outfit. The ref was full of it but that’s life, good teams win despite the ref.

Hey, how fat is Phil “Zombie” Waugh?

Bloody brumbies.

here’s some foxsports commentary on the 19-12 snorefest of incompetents

I think the crowd figure was right for the raiders v tigers game but inflated for the brumbies v hurricanes. You can kind of tell the crowd figure by how full the terraces look (the corner grandstands).

An interesting comment in today’s SMH

“The Brumbies are playing like a team without a heart – not surprising considering their dilemmas, including a recent disagreement at training between Elsom and coach Andy Friend, which has since been resolved. There have also been off-field dramas involving Brumbies staff, further destabilising the team.

Maybe that’s why Elsom was again quiet on Saturday night”

Interesting that the CT doesn’t seem to have the same sources…

Well I think BD is right. I went to both Raiders and Brumbies games recently, I would have bet my left arm, my left testicle and my soul that the same amount or people were there, like to the nearest hundred.

Same amount of seats empty, same area’s full and they said there was 5000 more people at the Raiders game? I don’t know if you can hide 5000 people in that stadium?

If you’re talking Raiders-Tigers and Brumbies-Canes, the difference was 2000 people.

In any case, what would the Raiders stand to gain from fudging crowd figures? Financially, the answer would be zero. Maybe once BD gets back from speed dating you and he can explain that for us?

I don’t think it is Raiders counting the figures in the first place as they don’t run the gates, but the purported attendance figures don’t make sense. The fact is that when Canberra teams aren’t winning, the crowds plummet. The Raiders suck and have hardly won a game.

Then you can sit in Canberra Stadium which holds about 24,000 people and it’s 1/4 full, yet they announce 12-15k people, something isn’t right, unless they’re counting every player, support staff and security personnal.

I’m not sure how you form a link between the Raiders and dating? But I’ll leave you to sit and think about that all you want?

Godot, I hope it is just the emotion of last night talking. The attitude that a team is only worth following when it is winning is pissweak IMO. Footy is like marriage – you take the bad along with the good and don’t just walk away and find another team when your own team is struggling. That’s when a team needs its supporters the most.

As for you BD, LOL, keep up the conspiracy theories. What’s next? A post linking the Canberra Raiders with your lack of success with women?

Absolutely pathetic. Another season down the drain. No wonder the Raiders are now pulling bigger home crowds that the Brumbies. Canberra sports fans are fairly cluey (some might say fickle) and are quick to lose interest in a sports team when they go off the boil. That’s now happened with the Brumbies. After all the promise of a title at the start of the season with Rocky & Gits back we now have another season where this so-called “winter sport” ends for us in the middle of Autumn. I’m off to Canberra Stadium today, I’m sure many other disillusioned Brumbies fans will be joining me.

Yes, no wonder they are fudging the crowd figures at Raiders home games more than Brumbies, the Brumbies were sitting in 6th out of 14 teams and the Raiders are on the bottom of the NRL ladder. Which team has gone off the boil again?

While not really following the Super 14, I can safely say from what I saw of the match that the referee should be sacked. Some of the decisions made went beyond borderline into the plain wrong.

I kind of got roped in to driving to Sydney to see the game, which turned out to be a complete waste of a Saturday night. Am I turning into a one-eyed idiot fan or has the refereeing lately been shithouse?
