Yahoo reports that the Brumbies have won the World Club Sevens!

Henry Speight scored in the final minute to lift the ACT Brumbies to a 17-14 win over Auckland in the final of the World Club Sevens tournament in London.

Super Rugby wing Speight bagged two tries to lead the Australian side to the inaugural title at the 12-team event at Twickenham.

Speight was also named player of the series.

That makes up for the shameful effort of the Wallabies on Saturday night!

While I agree rugby 7’s and rugby share basically rules and nothing else its still a fun sport to watch. Better than the idea of league 9’s…… of course Rugby 7’s is an olympic sport also, gives the kiwis a chance to win a gold 🙂

The try that won the QF had some great passes and defending 6 on 7 for about 15 minutes is pretty damn good.

Tournament finals on foxsports 3 right now!

Rugby 7’s is the worst sport in the world, eclipsing even netball. I’m a huge rugby fan and I refuse to watch or support this rubbish.

Netball is a fine sport, silly.

Basketball, on the other hand … just dreadful. They should line them up, measure them, add the numbers and call that the score.
(yeah yeah, I know … there was once a guy who was only 6’3″ who held a spot in a team somewhere. No height bias here.)

Foxsports3 at 4.25pm this afternoon if you want to see!

I watched the Brumbies QF versus Saracens Moscow, when they had a player red carded down 12-5 in the first half. Inspirational stuff in sevens, certainly showed the same grit the 15 a side team played with. Larkham definately will be the Brumbies next head coach. I’m guessing because the Waratahs were not in it the Sydney media have largely ignored the event.

Its been a good year for the Brumbies, shame about the Super Rugby final though.

It’s almost got to the stage where i can’t bear to watch the ongoing humiliation.
