The brumbies beat Qld 6-3. Proving that Eddie Jones is a whole lot of talk and no action! I’m sure johnboy will have more…

[ED – yes indeed, PlanetRugby has a piece on the lowest scoring game in the history of the competition, good work by the forwards keeping the Reds off the line, and, er, what do those other guys do? The, wait, it’ll come to me, the backs?

Absoulute disgrace that a man each side was sent off for the Reds’ blatant thuggery in the stink. Rugbyheaven has a bit more.]

Does anybody still care about Rugby and the Brumbies ?

Also, good to see Jone “Samo” Tawake pick up his game this week.

The Brumbies backs like/try to play the ball on their finger tips, so whenever its gets slightly damp (like most of our games thus far) we see lots of handling errors and a much more conservative (kicking) game with less tries. Regardless, they should try playing the ball through the forwards (have you seen the size of Chiz this season!) and score tries through pick and drives, and rolling mauls (as was demonstrated by the Blues against us).

Hmmm…I’m not so sure vg. I reckon the forwards are doing pretty well this year, it’s the backs that are letting them down. We were pushing the Auckland scrum all over the park the other week, I’m not sure what else you could ask for.

& Elsom may have mongrel…but he also has no brains & gives away penalties like there’s no tomorrow.

I’m a big fan of Gregan, but I reckon he needs a game or two on the bench. He’s been sssssllllloooooow getting the ball to the backs all season so far…really slow. It’s the stuff his critics have been saying for years, now I’m starting to agree with them. As said, one try in three games is pretty orginary. Thank goodness for some strong defence & for getting Huxley back to the Brumbies.

it’s worrying that the Brumbies have scored only 1 try in 3 games.

I sent a few mates an SMS mid game asking ‘are these the best players Australia has to offer at the moment’. I love the game, love Aussie rugby and will follow the Wallabies until my dying days, but we might as well hand the AB’s the Webb Ellis trophy now. No-one will touch them this year.

Until we find an international standard prop in this country (all the Aussie S14 one’s I watched this year have been pathetic) our scrum will continue to capitulate. Dead set the Wallabies forwards are monstrous but weak as piss when it comes to the scrum.

No one (bar maybe Rocky Elsom) displays a bit of ‘mongrel’ and some of the basic skills (like catching and passing) are lost on some of these guys that do it for a living.

The next few years will be a transitional period as the seasoned vets like GG and Bernie wrap it up, but there doesn’t seem to be anyone barring Beale that inspires me to believe that the next generation of at least being competitive with the ABs is on its way.

Guy Shepherdson is f*cking hopeless. Surely we have someone better than him. Some obese bloke in a bar could hold up a scrumm better than he does
