The ABC has the sad news that Brumbies star flanker Michael Hooper has signed with the hated Waratahs for next season.

Brumbies flanker and Wallabies hopeful Michael Hooper is set to leave the ACT franchise next year to join New South Wales.

The Tahs were not commenting on Tuesday, but it is understood they are on the verge of closing a deal with the 20-year-old, muscling out advances from the Brumbies and also Melbourne Rebels.

Still, they key is not to try to hang onto stars, it’s to be more efficient at making them than the opposition.

Born in Sydney, grew up in Sydney, played his club rugby with Manly. Taking the opportunity to go home.

What an idiot.

I’m sorry, but clearly he’s looking at dollars and not the opportunities that lay before him at the Brumbies.

Curses. I’m going to find it a lot harder to hate him than other players who’ve taken the sky blue. I’ll still manage it somehow.

The saddest thing is that a very exciting prospect is going to the talent drain that is the Waratahs. Then again, he’ll get plenty of opportunities to practive pilfering the ball with his teammates kicking it away everytime they get it.
