Brunos fiend busted!

johnboy 19 December 2010 12

This in in from ACT Policing:

ACT Policing officers overnight arrested a 20-year-old man after he was caught red-handed in the fifth of five separate burglaries at a well-known Mawson truffle shop.

After investigating the frequency and timing of previous burglaries at the premises, General Duties officers from Woden Patrol sought and gained permission from the owner to conceal themselves inside the shop.

Around 10.40pm last night (Friday, December 17), the offender entered the premises unlawfully and was arrested. A search warrant was executed on his Macgregor home a short time later and a number of items seized as evidence, including a camera and sums of money in a clipseal plastic bag.

The offender was charged with five counts of burglary in separate instances from November 19, and one count of theft.

He was released on conditional bail and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

Did he gain access the same way each time, or five different ways?

First offence was on the 19th of last month…

This was the fifth time he’d broken in…

I’m guessing that the police “investigating the frequency and timing of previous burglaries at the premises” indicates that this genius was knocking the place over every Friday night?

Just once I like to read a report that goes:

“Around 10.40pm last night (Friday, December 17), the offender entered the premises unlawfully. When police officers revealed themselves they found the offender beaten and bloodied with his head through a plaster wall. Unfortunately due to a technical fault the CCTV system had not recording anything following the offender’s entry to the premises.”

Wouldn’t we all!

Great effort by the local constabulary in catching this fiendish truffle napper. Of course as always the courts will then find every reason under the sun to let the offender off. No doubt it will be blamed on a truffle deprived childhood or some other nonsense. After 20 years of dribbling let’s release them because its not their fault crap why doesn’t the government and judiciary wake up to themselves and realize that a good length of sentence will at least stop these irresponsible idiots from ruining other people’s lives.

I’m sure if Bruno asked the offender to pay for the probable increase in his insurance that would be laughed out the door.

For all the faults of the USA there is some merit to their judicial selection in the public voting in their local judge so that the bleeding heart namby pamby’s in the Government don’t get the total say in the selection. Let’s vote in a hanging Judge which might send a message to the criminal elements of this town.

Nice work. Hard to mount a defence when you’re caught with your hand in the truffle jar. except Mully made me do it.

“a number of items seized as evidence, including a camera and sums of money in a clipseal plastic bag”

What?? No truffles in the loot? Surely that would be the only thing worth stealing.
