This in in from ACT Policing:
ACT Policing officers overnight arrested a 20-year-old man after he was caught red-handed in the fifth of five separate burglaries at a well-known Mawson truffle shop.
After investigating the frequency and timing of previous burglaries at the premises, General Duties officers from Woden Patrol sought and gained permission from the owner to conceal themselves inside the shop.
Around 10.40pm last night (Friday, December 17), the offender entered the premises unlawfully and was arrested. A search warrant was executed on his Macgregor home a short time later and a number of items seized as evidence, including a camera and sums of money in a clipseal plastic bag.
The offender was charged with five counts of burglary in separate instances from November 19, and one count of theft.
He was released on conditional bail and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
