The Brumbies infinite capacity to entertain and enthrall has reached new heights after, having dangled the possibility of home final before us, they now offer the prospect of missing the finals altogether after a gripping loss to the Highlanders last night. RugbyHeaven has the story.

So, the grand final’s come three weeks early! First beat the ‘Saders at in Christchurch, then the rest of the finals will be (by comparison) a doddle!

Your thoughts?

UPDATED: The ABC is also reporting that George Gregan has been cited over his sin-bin spear tackle and will face the judiciary.

FURTHER UPDATE: Well we’re well stuffed now, the judiciary’s given Gregan one week according to Foxsports.

The Git isn’t even being named in the team now, so either Laruie is foxing the Crusaders or he just wants to save him up for the rematch next week

The tackle was dangerous, however he did not drive the player into the ground. Gregan mearly lost control… Bad but not as bad as ones seen in leauge.

Considering gregan has played over 200 professional games (super rugby and tests) and has only recieved 3 or 4 cards, his one week ban is quite fair.

ABC News yesterday described it as a “spear tackle”, today’s Canberra Times just says it was “a dangerous tackle”.

I didn’t watch the game. Can someone tell me what the tackle really looked like? If it truly was a spear tackle, then I think he got off light. But, being a bit cynical at times, I could be led to believe it’s a conspiracy to get Gregan into early retirement.

The Brumbies have no chance of beating the Crusaders in Christchurch.
