Burst water main on Barry Drive

johnboy 19 February 2013 2

ACTEW Water has news on trouble on Barry Drive:

ACTEW Water crews are working to fix a burst water main on Barry Drive, and restore the road as quickly as possible.

In order to complete the repair as soon as we can, it has been necessary to reduce traffic heading eastbound (into the City) to one lane, and Watson Street turning left onto Barry Drive is closed.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use an alternate route where possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing.

UPDATE 19/02/13 15:24: TAMS are advising of the road impacts:

The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users that due to a burst water main at the intersection of Watson Street and Barry Drive, the left lane of Barry Drive (City bound) has been closed.

Traffic is unable to turn left onto Barry Drive from Watson Street and is currently being diverted through McKay Gardens.

Traffic can still turn left onto Watson Street from Barry Drive.

Warning signs have been erected to alert people to the closure. Please use alternative routes where possible.
