The ABC has the tale of one 26 year old Daniel West who can’t share the road:

Daniel John West, 26, from Bywong has faced Queanbeyan Local Court.

He has pleaded guilty to one count of common assault and one count of intimidation relating to an incident on April 21, 2013.

He has also pleaded guilty to one count of common assault and one count of intimidation relating to a second incident on June 22, 2013.

Facts tendered to the court state that in April this year West drove his car close to cyclists on the Old Federal Highway at Bywong and nearly hit one of the riders.

Hopefully never to drive again.

He really stuffed up big time. He committed the offenses in NSW so he will get more than a slap with a wet flannel that he would have expected in the ACT.

rolls eyes and plucks a small violin…..

Hahahaha! Actually, given some of the piss weak sentences handed down to violent offenders as of late, I’d not be surprised if that’s how things panned out.

What did he think? That cyclists aren’t entitled to use the road?

Lock him up, keep him off the road.

he might simply change his behaviour now he’s in the poop, but it sounds as though he sure won’t change his attitude towards cyclists…. It’s a big tough man who aims a car at folk on bikes…. not

Seriously dumb comment from another RA troll.

I heard about this guy. Family of nutters living out there, apparently. Same ones that had about 1000 whitegoods stockpiled in a paddock, until they were forced to get rid of them.

And hey – another great example of cyclists choosing the quietest roads possible, only to experience completely over the top reactions.

Like Fitz’s Challenge the other weekend. A once a year event, well promoted and signposted, with all riders required to be insured and wearing Australian Standard helmets. Police and Ambulance patrolling all day. Yet the further out into the bush you go, the greater the sense of entitlement the 4WD owner has. Unfortunately yelling death threats from your car doesn’t automatically clear the road of 1400+ bikes.

Glad I was not up there for that I can only imagine the smugness of 1400+ cyclists in one place

But he has “assured [Police] he would not conduct himself in that manner again”.
Seems like a stand-up sort of chap; surely his word is his bond?
