Cafe Bamboo rolled

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted aggravated robbery at Café Bamboo in Braddon last night (Sunday, May 1).

Around 9.35pm, a man armed with a screwdriver entered the restaurant on Lonsdale Street and approached the front counter. He threatened a female employee, and demanded money.

A male employee walked out from the kitchen area and startled the man, who left the restaurant on foot. He was last seen running towards Haig Park in Braddon.

The male offender is described as Caucasian, approximately 190cm (6’3”) tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black and green striped beanie and a dark navy blue coloured jacket.

There were no customers inside the restaurant during the attempted robbery. No-one was injured, and no money was stolen from the restaurant.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the attempted robbery last night, or may have seen a man matching the above description in the Braddon area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Some chefs knives are better described as small swords.

Awesome, I’m guessing that the male that startled him from the kitchen had a knife. Something like the seen in Crocodile Dundee “That’s not a knife this is a knife”.
