The ABC is reporting that the Property Council’s Catherine Carter is calling on more funding for ACT in tomorrow’s budget: [ABC story]

Left that a bit late hasn’t she, given that government web editors all around Canberra have been loading budget info onto sites all last week, the final budget papers went to the presses yesterday, and will be delivered to the Hill this arvo…

Or maybe it is just a bit of grandstanding?

Either way, why is the media giving it any credibility??

if the property council had any grand ideas that didt involve:

releasing more land for housing
releasing more land for ‘commercial’ development

id be all ears.

There’s always a media vacuum immediately before the budget, so they get their face on the tele, which is often what a peak body is really after when trying to justify the cost of membership.
