Chief Minister Stanhope has this day opened a shiny new intensive care unit at Calvary Hospital.
The new 16 bed unit replaces the outdated ICU and embraces contemporary thinking and best practice from the ACT Intensive Care Network and similar facilities across Australia.
The $13.5 million facility has been designed with the input of nurses and medical officers from Calvary Hospital and uses natural light to create the feeling of space and a far more natural and pleasant therapeutic environment for patients.
Meanwhile the hospital is still not owned by the ACT Government which is paying for all the upgrades.
