Can Canberra step up to host the Pony Fair?

The My Little Pony Trading Post (MLPTP to those in the know) has the exciting news that Canberra is hard in the running (with Sydney and Melbourne) to host the Australian Pony Fair.

Following the recent polls on where the Australian Pony Fair should be held this year, we have minimized the selection down to the top three locations, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. In order to establish where the fair will be out of these cities, we are putting out the call for people who live in either Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra (and their surrounding areas) who wish to act as organisers for the event. The fair will be held wherever we can get a strong and effective team put together – there isn’t much point holding the fair in a location that is popular but no one is able to organise it in that city.

We are looking for a group of people to organise the event along with a head organiser. The team will have to be able to work on the event between the deciding of their city as host and probably October at the very latest. The team will of course have the full support and assistance of the Pony Collectors Australia and its members.

If you are interested in and are able to help in either of these cities, please respond with the location you can help at and if you would like to be a part of the team or the head organiser. As we are running out of time, there will only be two weeks for names to be collected before the location is settled on.

C’mon Chief Minister, surely you can get a crack team onto winning this prize event?

I must be one of those barking mad women although i don’t see myself like that. I have collected vintage My Little Ponies for over 2 years now and have over 300 ponies in my collection as well as many many more accessories. This event is a great way for collector’s to showcase their collections to the general public as well as meet other collector’s from around Australia. I will be helping organise this event, and no matter where it is held (I voted Canberra)it will give our community a chance to show everyone what we’re all about.
So let’s get behind this event and show the rest of the world how we do it Down Under!!

Call me crazy, but I’d love to go to this if Canberra was chosen!

me too 🙂

MLP??? who gave a stuff about them?! carebears all the way baby!

Ironic that you’re the one to make that comment, Sheepgroper 🙂

Ah, My Little Bestiality?

Never thought grown women would be into this stuff…
MILFs with MLPs?

I thought best not to link to the one NSFW photo I found. A bit of imagination though, and you can guess where the MLP was….

My Little Ponies are good raw material for . . . er. . . art . . ..

Some googling of the subject turns up some weird $hit.

But at least I know what to do if one breaks a leg…

We should build a 600 foot statue of such a pony astride Mount Ainslie to support the bid. It would be no less embarassing than those crappy little windmills.

Two words: Pony rides.

We could pretty lolly pink lights around parliament house and have ponies trotting up and down the grassy lawns with bright bunches of balloons tied to the security bollards.

But will you really understand all the special needs of the MLP enthusiast?

How hard can it be? Very small stalls, multicoloured plastic hay and drugs. Lots and lots of drugs.

Having just rememberd who holds the portfolio, I would now really like to see if we can get an official comment from our Minister for Tourism on this one.

I think it is a must for the ACT. I can just see the MLP convention flags flying on Kings Ave and the MLP flower garden on Vernon Circle.

We could become the centre of the MLP universe, strange women in floral dresses and straw hats will make the pilgrimage from all corners of the globe. Think of the billions added to the local economy…

If this is here, I’m so making the four My Little Apocalypse Ponys and taking them along.

Scoff at these fine women if you will, but think of the opportunity to cash in… a small bag of polystyrene beads and some mission brown spray paint = the ultimate MLP accessory…

I, for one, would like to see our ACT Minister for Tourism, Sport and Education get up and talk about how much we need an event like this.
That would be nice.

Now this is the sort of event the Government should be supporting instead of Summernats.

My mind is torn between insane women who use these as replacement children, the hardcore collectors of both sxes who have never opened a box but have a mint condition MLP unicorn, and the mature men who play with MLP and plait their manes.

Sounds like I’ve done something pretty horrible to your mind there.

I suspect there’s a major risk that genuine pony enthusiasts would be overwhelmed by rubberneckers.

But I’d be tempted to buy the right t-shirt from them.

Do you have to be a MLP collector to run this event, or can anyone put their hand up because they see an opportunity to film a award winning doco about freaks and their weirdo hobbies?

I don’t see why you can’t give it a go.

It is not so much the women I am worried about…

Will there be a RiotAct delegation?

Come on JB, I know that you really want to go…

Well first Canberra has to win this coveted event.

But I’ll admit I’m curious as to just how insane these women are.

d’uh!

Little plastic ponies of course!

…So is it for real pony’s or My Little Pony pony’s?
