CEO of RSPCA ACT Michael Linke today thanked the Canberra community for turning out in droves in support of MPW.
“On behalf of everyone at RSPCA, especially the animals we care for, I’d like to thank our local community and the region for their tremendous support of Million Paws Walk.” Michael said.
“Our preliminary financial report is suggesting well in excess of $200,000 has been raised, a 20% increase over last year and the most we have ever raised.
“During difficult economic times and when the government is still providing funding well short of our day to day needs this is a timely and important financial injection.
“The event went off without a hitch. We have spent six month planning this event and I’d like to thank my team and the support of our sponsors and event partners for delivering such a successful, safe, well run and enjoyable event.
“Funds will be directly invested into our animal welfare programs across the board and all animals within our care will benefit.” Michael concluded.
