Diplomatic Business Connections Gala Dinner

For the second year running, Canberra Business Chamber will hold its annual Diplomatic Business Connections Gala Dinner, to facilitate connections between local businesses and the diplomatic community.

The event will be held at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra, in partnership with the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Designed to help Canberra region business owner’s fast-track or broaden their export opportunities, the dinner provides a unique opportunity to build networks with diplomats from a wide range of embassies in Canberra, as well as like-minded business owners.

Guests will be given the opportunity to make direct connections with countries of interest, gain insights into international markets and realise possibilities for business growth.

The event is part of a number of initiatives by Canberra Business Chamber to help achieve their Destination 2030 vision of building and sustaining a thriving private sector, with strong ties to international markets and reduced reliance on public sector jobs. Broadening support for export and trade mission programs also forms part of the Chamber’s strategic plan for 2017-2020.

Attendees of the Diplomatic Business Connections Gala Dinner will be given a guest list with the names and company details of other attendees, to allow relationships to be formed around areas of mutual interest.

Robyn Hendry, CEO of Chamber, says “As trade relations continue to grow and prosper, it is increasingly important to explore export and inward investment opportunities across the region and with international markets. For businesses who are exporting or who want to, this event will enable them to explore opportunities and build networks that can help them expand into those markets.

“The feedback from last year’s event was excellent, with attendees citing a great atmosphere which facilitated productive discussions and a unique occasion to meet invaluable diplomatic connections, who could assist in advancing their international operations.”

The Canberra Business Chamber Diplomatic Business Connections Gala Dinner will be held on Thursday 31 August from 7pm to 10pm at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra.
