The Greens’ Caroline Le Couteur is calling for Canberra Connect to beef up its Gungahlin presence.
“As well as addressing an equity issue for residents, a shopfront would help to make Gungahlin a more self-sufficient town centre, where residents wouldn’t need to travel long distances to access services.”
“The Government’s data on Canberra Connect shows that the numbers of users are growing, as is the amount of Government revenue it is collecting. A tiny fraction of this revenue would pay for a physical shopfront service to be provided for Gungahlin.
“Through our Parliamentary Agreement with the ALP, the Greens secured a commitment for a shopfront service for the people of Gungahlin. We’re urging the Government to come through on this promise with funds in this years Budget,” said Ms Le Couteur.
Surely though most people go to the shopfront where they work?
