ACT Scouts and Guides present: CHANNEL 08

For those who aren’t familiar with Canberra Gang Show, the show is entirely written, directed, performed and produced by young men and women members (11yrs-26yrs) of the Scout Movement of Australia. Canberra Gang Show is unlike many “traditional” Gang Shows you may have seen. The whole show is an original variety show.

This year the show is entitled “Channel 08”. It is a satirical and light hearted look at contemporary Australian television programming. It is suitable for ages 6 and up, and is an all singing, all dancing, all laughing two hours.

Gang Show supports the personal development of the young people of Canberra, introducing and training them in the world of theater… Come along and support Gang Show!

Tickets available from ticketing.philo.org.au (Thanks to Canberra Philharmonic Society Inc)

  • Where: Erindale Theatre, McBryde Cres, Wanniassa
  • When: July 5 – 12 .Concessions and Group Discounts available.

Huh? Does this relate to ‘Marist-like’ behaviour within scouts?

I’m intrigued as to who this mysterious Skidbladnir actually is, and what is his/her connection and interest with Gang Show and the people within it…

Lux seems to know about the specifics, see post #9.
Me, I agreed not to indicate an alleged link relating to the Gang Show.

Now that I reread this thread and in light of this years events, I really am supprised that apparently the saddest part of the 2008 Gang Show is Caz not being there for it all.

how come Skidbladnir??

To be fair, bad apples within the Gang Show are purged.

All reference to them gets removed from the servers, and ex-Branch Managers get called in to deal with any loose ends.

Thanks GnT… the saddest thing is not having Freddo involved, since she’s in Canada this year 🙂 oh well, people come and go

Good luck to you guys. Having been involved in Gang Show for many years as a ‘youth’, it was a great time in my life and a great opportunity for the young people involved.

hmmm….. i said allegedly… now now – isnt this thread getting a bit bitter

yeah but – hmm no.

Just because a few of the society have frucuked up with fireworks does that mean they should be banned for everyone else not to use? The Government are obviously considering it.

I just don’t like feeding bad causes. It’s okay to give someone a fair go but the end of the line does finally run out.

i just can’t justify paying for it when things like the past have happened.

ALLEGEDLY.

And what about all the other kiddies involved in the show who have nothing to do with said alleged activity? Don’t they deserve an audience to come see the show, so they can feel the thrill of the theatre? And to pay for tickets so they can hopefully have another go next year?

green_frogs_go_pop: There seems to be some astroturf hanging out of your trousers.

:::bows head in shame!:::

Was that a floydian slip?

(madman) “So the comment is flaud!”

Classic.

mmmmm… post #3 is full of cr@p… You’re just as genuine as the nappysand ads!
You can’t make a real testimonial if you’re on the inside – and since the show hasn’t come to theatre yet – it cannot be genuine. So the comment is flaud!

And yeah I used to see the shows but since scouting has been receiving such a bad name lately especially this show and the members and there alleged illegal acts – i just can’t justify paying for it when things like the past have happened.

You wouldn’t pay some guy called muhammad on the side of the street asking for donations to terrorism… Or some guy called maelinar or VY_Berlina!… :-p

Its really really tops.

Seriously.

(if the first comment didnt make you think “yes, i shall go see the show!”, this one better!!)

(and, no, no actors were used in the making of this, this is a real testimonal! :D)

It really is a fantastic show this year and is awesome to be a part of… a great night out at the theatre for all!
