The Landlords – Canberra Is Quite Nice from Jordan Prosser on Vimeo.

It’s midnight and I should be asleep, but bloody Finnigan has baited me with a tweet to have a look at this video.

And, damnit, bravo. As a promo for a show at a festival it’s really raising the bar. Here’s the accompanying blurb.

feat. Professor Richard Pritchard & Doctor Arthur Downwards.
The new lead single from their forthcoming album ‘Bitches Love Knowledge’.

Music and lyrics by Jordan Prosser & Sam Burns-Warr.
Shot by Benjamin Hamey.

The Landlords perform ‘Going To Hell In This Handy Basket’ at the 2012 You Are Here festival, Canberra.

March 15th, 7.30pm – The Phoenix Bar.
March 16th, 12.30pm – The Newsroom.
March 17th, 2.30pm – The Newsroom.

Canberra’s quite nice ‘cept as a location to shoot a vid…

I’m a bit worried about their posture. One of them doesnt appear able to stand upright…

“Bring your bit-ches and ovaltine”

Lyrical genius

This is cool. Critics should offer something better, or stop hating.

… I like the line “I’d rather be a hipster than a hater”

I might start using that as my tag line on RiotACT? 🙂

this is horrible

I want to know where to get one of those David Finigan masks!

That is fantastic! I love how they manage to make Canberra look like a badass city in the background

Not sure what I should think about Canberra seemingly being equal to Ovaltine on the niceness scale, but I am sure it’s more than most non-Canberrans would score us. Plus, I have never tasted Ovaltine…

Haha love it, reminiscent of Beastie Boys I reckon.

Wow. Genius. Freaking genius. I hope we can get ’em to do this live.

You Are Here 2012… the best fringe fest Canberra’s ever seen and it ain’t even started yet.
