The Guardian has included Canberra in its list of Holiday Hotspots for 2014.

Sure, number 39. But on the list!

Bloody hell, even Tassie made it to number 33!

Clearly that new CBR logo has gone viral – all we need is a Chinggis Khaan sized statue, with a steam punk theme, and we’ll blitz the competition.

The richness and excitement of Canberra’s Centenary program probably left The Guardian astonished and with a lasting impression… oh wait.

Don’t get me wrong, I love living in Canberra. I just can’t figure out how it can possible be considered a “tourist hotspot”. Maybe for a day or weekend trip, but after that you’ll run out of things to see and do.

It looks to me that this article is just a completely random list of cities around the world.

I think you’ll find it’s for 2014.

First proof reading (unpaid) for the new year. No need for such effusive thanks.

I think you’ll find it’s for 2014.

When the enticements are so thin that they include “a bike shop”, not sure it will bring the UK tourists flocking to Lake B-G shores….

That said, the rest of the list tells me they were just throwing darts at a map…half of their “hot tip” suggestions are in war-torn countries or places with known corruption/violence against tourists. Then again, I know it’s only cool if no one else has been there (looking at some of the pics, I can understand why they’re not currently top destinations)…

strangely, the comments following are not so glowing about us…
