Spot on Timberwolf and Nosey. The judiciary in the ACT Supreme Court are on the whole a sick joke. “Well Mr Cringle you seel to be doing well at Rehab” What sort of shit is that? Perhaps the learned Chief Justice requires a person to point a shotgun at his head as the person in this robbery had and feel fear to the point of losing control of his bladder to understand the fear and long term effects of the violent and dangerous criminals on innocent people. Across the border in NSW Mr Cringle would be sataring at at least 5 years full time custodial sentence. FFS.

Community service is the sentence he will receive.

If you rob a supermarket with a sawn off shotgun to get money for drugs, you get a suspended sentence and a pat on the back from the Magistrates because you are doing well in rehab.

It does not matter that they sent you their as part of your bail conditions.

If I did my job like you,I would not have it!!!!

I don’t think anything can be proven beyond reasonable doubt in an era of slack-jawed Sudoku-playing jurors. “Hmm? What? Oh yes, seven…I mean, guilty!”

Good point deadmandrinking, This is only if this were proven beyond a reasonable doubt. I would not want anyone undeserving to cop something like that.

But being the ACT he would be on bail / councelling / weekend detention / community service or whatever namby pamby sentence he was given shortly.

Interestingly enough, I do not support having a jail in the ACT borders when we could have more housing in that particular area to alleviate the shortage. I am aware that i may be seen as a facist when i speak about these things, but the law in the ACT really needs a boot in the arse.

There used to be a time when people considered the consequences before they did something. I realise that every case is different and should be seen as such, but a standardisation of the punishments allowed by the courts should, in some ways, become more draconian.

We’d all be blind, I hear.

PBO: ‘eye for an eye’ judgements has never been a favorite of mine.

I hope you know how to undo that if he’s found not guilty on appeal PBO…

Skin the inside of his legs and bind them together, when the skin grows back his legs will grow together. Makes future rapes a bit harder… And it is cheaper than chemical castration.
It is a bit medieval, but it worked then and should still work. I know it seems harsh and possibly a bit psycho (no other way to type it) but do this to one offender publicly and people will think twice about their future actions.
There is a low crime rate in Saudi Arabia because they deal with their problems once. Maybe “Some” aspects of their law can be included in ours, it would definitly solve some problems.
This is just an opinion.

Death would be too easy…

Pulp Fiction) – “What now? Lemme tell you what now. I’m gonna call up a couple a hard, pipe-hittin’ niggers and go to work on the holmes here with a pair a pliars and a blowtorch. You hear me talkin’ Hillbilly Boy? I ain’t through with you by a damn site. I’m gonna get medieval on your ass.”

Its okay, if he gets Penfold he just needs to say he broke in and commited rape because he was feeling sad because it was raining, and he’ll be given a ‘manifestly inadequate’ sentence as its only a low-end crime.
There’s now a precedent for this kind of thing.

Save the swords for this guy (if found guilty), Timberwolf65

This bastard deserves to die by the sword.

This really angers me. Not only has he entered her home, but he has invaded her personal space within her home.
How unsafe will this lady feel now for probably the rest of her life after this has happened.

I’d like to say I have my faith that justice will be served, but I wont hold my breath.
