The SMH is reporting that Canberra man, and Austrade official, Craig Senger, is believed to have been killed in the Jakarta bombings yesterday in Indonesia.

The Austrade official, 36, from Canberra, is believed to have died in the bombing at the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott hotels in Jakarta on Friday morning.

“Yesterday we were in shock but today we are devastated,” Mr Senger’s uncle, Geoff Lazarus, told AAP on Saturday.

“We’re still waiting for the official confirmation. Things have taken a little longer than we expected.”

For those of us that knew Craig, they may agree with the comment that “He was a better man than most of us”
Best described as a gentle soul, with a heart as kind as any, supported by his constant warming smile.

Our hearts go out to Kate his wife, and his Mother and Sister here in Canberra.

He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace.

Just when you thought it was safe to travel again . . .

It still is pretty much.

You know, the terrorists win if you get scared.

Just when you thought it was safe to travel again . . .

An absolutely heinous crime committed by cowards who have no respect or value for human life, or life in any way shape or form.

My deepest sympathy goes out to his family.

What a terrible time for the family! My heart goes out to them, especially Mr Senger’s wife, and I hope they can find whatever comfort they need at this darkest of hours.

Indeed, fixed now.

Hey JB, that link actually goes to here:

Which is still interesting, but not Canberra related.
