Canberra now loses Melbourne Cup holiday

By Thumper - 5 December 2007 10

That reputed rag of excellence, the Canberra Times, has today on page 3 an article reporting that, in an amazing turnaround and proving that the Melbourne cup holiday was nothing but a cheap anti Howard, anti work choices stunt, the ACT Government has declared that next Melbourne Cup day will not be a holiday.

Holiday or not, I really don’t care, but I really hope these clowns get voted out next election

What’s Your opinion?

Whatever, I don’t work Tuesdays either way.

I thought those were the people who voted Socialist Alliance above the line, or that NONE, Of the above candidate in Gilmore?

Fucking morons. I don’t see how that shitty little stunt would make people vote Labor, but then again, people who vote for Labor are the people who want to do as little work as possible while reaping as many benefits as possible.

damn. go team

I figured this was on the cards, because the original declaration of the holiday was only for 2007.

Damn!

The only reason I voted labor was because of the holiday 🙁

The holiday was bloody stupid. Removing it can hardly be considered stupid as well. Have cake – eat cake – have cake – eat cake…

That chicken man must have some powerful friends.

Stanhope playing his usual political games with ACT voters. Sadly they will be returned at the next election as their is no credible opposition. Smyth is a smurf, Pratt is a prat and Burke is a burke!
