If you only look cute one day a year, Valentine’s Day is a good day to choose!
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s worth taking any and every opportunity to dress in theme, and February 14 is a great place to start. Whether you’re out for a romantic meal or home alone crying into a tub of Ben and Jerry’s (me), it pays to put some effort into your ensemble.
Some of my suggestions for this particular holiday include donning head-to-toe heart prints, romantic draping, feminine ruffles and overdosing on as much pink and red as possible. Failing that, you could take the traditional route of looking as conventionally attractive as possible in flattering silhouettes and classic tailoring. Today’s op shop outfit is a good compromise between these two ideals: romantic and pink while at the same time classic and flattering on most body shapes. The soft draping featured on this style of dress will make you feel like a Greek Goddess (make Aphrodite proud gurrrrrl!), while leaving enough stretch room in the stomach department to accommodate your indulgent chocolate dessert (an important and often-overlooked consideration).
The asymmetric cut also adds a hint of sexiness with the bare shoulder while remaining trés classy. A dress like this also works well for cocktail functions, engagement parties and weddings, so it’s a good investment.
That being said, at only $12, even wearing it once will give you a pretty good cost-per-wear ratio.
For shoes we’ve gone for a classic black pump in a tactile velvet finish (fancy), adding a few inches of height and accentuating those super sexy Love Goddess legs of yours. These heels are also fantastically versatile, being appropriate for a multitude of semi-formal or corporate occasions. And that’s it!
For only $17 you’ve got a super easy and romantic Valentine’s Day look to put you in the mood for luuuuuurve. Above all, have fun and wear whatever makes you feel good this Vday! Dress – $12 Salvos Belconnen Heels – $5 Salvos Belconnen
