photowalk

Canberra turn-out was great – 30 people in total. Lot’s of pic appearing online now 🙂

The two top photographers (Trey Ratcliff and Thomas Hawk, 3 Million follower between them) on G+ both commented on my post just after 7am – the exposure was huge!

This from the Google Photo Community manager Brian Rose (best mustache ever!)

Holy moly! 225 photographers in Sydney alone, with hundreds more folks at photowalks across Australia’s capitol and regional cities – this was the best photowalk yet! Thank you to everyone who attended the Sydney photowalk and all #thewalkdownunder photowalks happening across Australia. You Aussies beat the world record for largest photowalk! Three cheers! Now when’s the next one?

I took my iphone and a dslr – the iphone was used to take photos and instantly upload them to google+ in an attempt at photojournalism, and the 200+ dslr pictures were taken home and processed in photoshop – 6 hours of walking and nearly the same amount of time processing at home — but I got the most positive comments about my iPhone shots 😉

Thanks to martyO for organising the event, and for treating us n00b photographers like peers 🙂

here’s a few of the photos I took during the walk on the dslr:

Apologies if you got that impression – it was for all formats. I know quite a few pictures have been posted from iPhone and I posted several from Android. Sydney and other cities had loads of people shooting 100% mobile.

Have not seen the weekend sunrise as yet – it was the weather man’s bit so I would not expect it to be very many. Will check.

We will do another walk soon – this time a little further away from the city 🙂

So when I first read about this, back in this thread http://the-riotact.com/calling-all-canberra-photographers/65547 it seemed like this walk was all about mobile phone photography. I’m seeing a whole lot of tripods, dSLR’s and white lenses in these photos though. I’d love to know which (if any) of the photos in the slideshow were taken on a phone – not because I’m trying to be down on mobile photos, but because I’m now just assuming they’re all normal digital camera shots, and I’d love to be surprised!

+ 1

I declined to indulge, as my phone has a poxy 3 meg camera and no apps.

So did any shots get shown on Weekend Sunrise?

The very tasteful t-shirts … I’m still wearing mine. Fun day and thanks to Martin for organising 🙂

Plus we all got free (and extremely tasteful) t-shirts! And free coffee!

Had a great time and learned a lot, looking forward to the next one for sure.
