Canberra Repertory 'Showtune'

The second production for REP’s 2014-15 season is Showtune, celebrating the words and music of Jerry Herman. Opening on 20 June, the production continues until 5 July 2014 at Theatre 3, 3 Repertory Lane Acton. Directed by Jordan Kelly and with Musical Direction by Leisa Keen, no lyric is left unsung in this outstanding retrospective of Herman’s phenomenal career in songwriting.

The forty songs featured in Showtune come from the Herman Broadway musicals Milk and Honey (1961), Hello, Dolly! (1964), Mame (1966), Dear World (1969), Mack & Mabel (1974), The Grand Tour (1979), A Day in Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine (1980), and La Cage aux Folles (1983).

This is Kelly’s first directorial role with REP.

The Showtune production team include set designer Andrew Kay and set coordinator Russell Brown; lighting designer Jon Grotto, costume designer Christine Pawlicki,and properties by Madeline Woldhuis. The talented cast for this REP production are; Nathan Kelly, Ben Hardy, Michael Moore, Liz de Totth, Janelle McMenamin, Sarah Hull, and John Kelly
