Word reaches us that the Canberra Roller Derby League has at long last decided what to do with its influx of keen recruits.

UPDATE: The following is the approved CRDL Statement:

After an exciting couple of seasons CRDL is growing. The new recruits from the beginning of 2010 have reached bout-readiness and enabled the league to expand to four teams. Yep that’s right, FOUR teams! All existing skaters have been redrafted with new recruits to create entirely new team line-ups. So the next series of bouts will be massively exciting as we see how the teams shape up.

We’ll be putting on a taster season starting in September to get the teams up and running ahead of a full season to be launched in 2011. We haven’t confirmed ticket release dates yet so we’ll keep you posted as details are confirmed!

Our four teams are:

Brindabelters
Red Bellied Black Hearts
Surly Griffins
Black ‘n’ Blue Belles

Regards,

Bullseye Bettie
CRDL President

The roller Derby looks cool, I do have one question though, is it open to hetrosexual women?

of course.

I look forward to the next season, it should be good 🙂

Is the limiting resource for more teams recruits, or puns? Inquiring minds want to know!

Great news but I have mixed emotions.

Bambi is no longer with the Surlies… At least they’ve inherited Dr Hell.

Go SURLIES!!!

If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend checking it out. It’s a top night out.

This makes me very very happy.

Great to see that the talent is shared between the 4 teams – always good to have those nailbitingly close matches.
