Canberra Times Fun Run

The Fun Run is coming up again on Sunday 16 Sep 2007. Theres the 10km version from Woden to Commonwealth Park or the 5km version from Deakin for those who want to take the dog for a longish walk. Online entries close this Friday, or you can register on the day. They’re trying to go a bit high tech this year with new timing devices for runners that register your time as you go over certain points on the run.

The only point that I’m not happy with is serial 7 of the event waiver:

7. I agree to The Federal Capital Press of Australia Pty Ltd entering my personal details on the entry form into a database which will be used for the administration of the Event and which may be used for future marketing and promotion of the Event. I also agree to The Canberra Times contacting me with a home-delivery subscription offer.

Hopefully we’ll have good weather again this year.

Goddamn tags!! Grr, I hate it when a joke goes wrong. (There was supposed to be dice roll in there, plus witticisms.)

jemmy attacks Elf with +3/+3 axe. A 14 and a 9. mumble, mumble… jemmy wins puppy in pub raffle. Woohoo, jemmy eats tonight! (Health score +5)

Maelinar the Elf lives !

Just make something up. I’m completely over providing details to companies. It’s not like you’re swearing a stat dec. See this article in yesterday’s The Age about identity theft if you want to morally justify it to yourself.

It took them 3 months to work out I was taking the piss and I bet you the solution involves sitting a person down and physically looking for an attribute of my advert (such as consistent phone number, address etc).

CT does not have the technological capacity to adequately run databasing/business intelligence tools concurrently, so I suspect the same poor soul is going to get another manual job.

I would be more concerned about the blatant mis-use of lycra from our bulbous running cousins.
